Kip Op Sap

Serves 4



  • 4 boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1 large onion diced
  • 5 tbsp flour
  • 3 tbsp paprika powder
  • 1 tbsp smoked paprika powder
  • 3 cups of water
  • 2 tbsp sour cream
  • 2 tbsp half and half
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Olive oil

Mashed Potatoes

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 1 cup low sodium chicken broth
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 2 tbsp half and half


  1. In large pot or pan, add a little olive oil.
  2. Season the chicken with smoked paprika, salt and pepper and brown in the pan on both sides (it does not have to be cooked through).Β  Remove the chicken.
  3. Add the onions to the pan and cooking until soft and translucent.
  4. Add the flour and cook for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Next, add the paprika powder and cook for about a minute then add the water.
  6. Bring the sauce to a simmer and add the chicken thighs back in the pan.
  7. Simmer for 30 minutes to an hour.
  8. Boil the potatoes until fork tender and drain.
  9. Heat the chicken broth and add it to the potatoes while you mash them.
  10. Add the butter and half and half to the potatoes.
  11. Finish the chicken with sour cream and half and half.

Approximately 486 calories for one chicken thigh, 3/4 cup sauce and about a cup of mashed potatoes
